Inspite of being bihari foodies (both me & my better half), I made something out of sattu today for the first time. It came out well & here goes the method. U will need: 4 tbspn sattu, 1 tbspn finely chopped onion, 1 tspn mustard oil, 1 tspn finely chopped ginger, 1 green chilli-finely chopped, 2 tspn ajwain 1 tbspn lemon-juice, salt, oil for frying, 1 katori maida, 1 tspn mangraila. Mix 1 tspn ajwain, mangraila, 1 tspn oil & a pinch of salt in maida. Make a hard dough of it using a little water. Cover it & keep aside. Mix all the remaining ingredients in sattu. Now make small balls of maida. Make small round rotis of it. Add 2 tspn of sattu mixture in it. Seal the side & flatten the stuffed ball like a kachori. Dont make it thin. Let it be 1/4 inches thick. Now heat oil in a kadai/Pan. Deep fry the kachori from both sides. Similarly prepare the rest. Serve it with the kind of chutney you like. Tip of the Day: Sattu is prepared from chana dal. It's a speciality of Bihar. 4s COMMENTS
